ELECTRIC GUITAR VIA SMARTPHONES

A participative performance featuring a performer and an unlimited number of players with mobile devices.

 

This work is dealing with droning sounds, alternative guitar tunings and repetition in the digital age. A web-based application called "Grainfield", is used to network the audience with their own Smartphones and create an immersive listening experience. It was designed by Benjamin Matuszewski and Norbert Schnell as part of the CoSiMa research project developed at the IRCAM Centre Pompidou Paris.
